2018 ASG National Excellence in Teaching AwardTell ASG all about your inspirational teacher!

Parents, members of the community and students are invited to nominate an excellent educator.
Winners receive a $5000 grant they can use for their school.

Nominations close tomorrow Thursday 13th.
Nomination is a short process, then your job is done. After that ASG takes over

Nominations for the National Excellence in Teaching Awards are judged on examples on:
  • Outstanding leadership
  • Expert knowledge
  • Exemplary & innovative teaching practice
  • Professional engagement with colleagues, parents, carers and the community

Teachers must have at least 2 years experience and work 5 days a week for primary, secondary or special schools.

AMA Scholarship

Closes October 1st

The Auckland Mathematical Association awards one scholarship annually to reimburse the fees paid to study a 15 point post graduate paper in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education or Statistics Education at any Auckland tertiary institution.
The maximum amount of the award is $1000.

The scholarship will be awarded to a teacher who has not studied at a Postgraduate level before.

Judy Patterson Scholarship 

Opens 20th September Closes November 1st

This Scholarship was established in 2014 in recognition of the contribution made by Dr Judy Paterson to Mathematics Education and especially her work with secondary school mathematics teachers in the Auckland region.

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support graduate level professional development for a teacher from a decile 1 or 2 school in the wider Auckland region.

Application is by email to Scholarships Office of The University of Auckland scholarships@auckland.ac.nz in which you:

• state your intention to enroll in a Masters programme
• give details of your qualifications and experience in mathematics teaching
• attach a copy of your university transcript
• Indicate your current position
• Include a brief statement on why you wish to obtain a Masters degree (1 page)
